What writer’s block feels like
Have you ever been dropped in a very dark place where the only thing you could do is look into the distance at the things you want? Where your very desire is being mocked by your inability to reach the horizon. Each little frame has its own shadow that gently caresses the hopes that you will soon reach it.
What writer’s block feels like is a poem that I’ve been wanting to write for a while now. And the reason why it was so easy to write is that I’ve never really had that issue. I’ve luckily never had the pain of being unable to write. Being unable to pen what is going on in my mind.
What writer’s block feels like is a scary feeling.
The words that dance right in front of me but never invite me to join them. Those sad whispers my mind will always refuse to turn into screams, screams loud enough to be transformed into ink. That is What writer’s block feels like.
Writers pride themselves on the joy of being able to create and turn emotions into words that others can relate to. Others can love and enjoy those words because they get to understand that they are not alone in this world. Feeling like someone understands your pain, understands your fears, your needs is something extremely rare.
You need to give yourself permission to be ok with being unable to be perfect. Once you do that, you will slowly get to understand that writer’s block is nothing more than a myth.
