Kristoff St. John Passed Away
The world of soap series has lost a huge star. Kristoff St. John died at the age of 52. The La County Department of the Medical Examiner-Coroner Public Information Officer Sarah Ardalani, released a statement saying that they found Kristoff St. John dead at his home in Woodland Hills on Sunday and according to police suspicions it could have been an alcohol overdose.
The real cause of death has yet to be established and is still pending additional investigation after an autopsy is done. The LAPD responded to an incident on Sunday in the San Fernando Valley area where someone was pronounced dead. They also released a statement “We did respond yesterday at 2:05 p.m. on Morea Way for a possible alcohol overdose and that’s going to be a coroner’s case,”
St. John has been playing the character of Neil Winters since 1991 on the famous Young and the Restless soap opera. The networks that produce the show, CBS Television Network and Sony Pictures Television released a joint statement about kristoff his death “The news of Kristoff St. John’s passing is heartbreaking. He was a very talented actor and an even better person. For those of us who were fortunate enough to work with him on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for the last 27 years, he was a beloved friend whose smile and infectious laugh made every day on set a joy and made audiences love him. On behalf of the Y&R cast and crew, CBS and Sony Pictures Television, we offer our heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones, especially his two daughters, Paris and Lola.”
St. John was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award nine times and he has won 10 NAACP image Awards. He has also appeared on several other shows like Martin, The Cosby Show, Living Single and the Jamie Foxx Show. St. John’s son, Julian St. John committed suicide in 2014 while in a mental health facility. St. John also had a brief run in with mental health issues and that’s why he had to take a leave of absence from the show in October 2017 to get psychiatric treatment. His ex-wife Mia St. John released a statement about his leave of absence “No parent should ever have to bury their child, and for those who do, it is a nightmare that haunts you forever. The death of our beloved son Julian, has taken a toll on both of us. He is an actor and while he may appear whole on the outside, his heart is broken. As a society we need to start taking mental health seriously and realize that no one is immune.”
His death comes as a real shock and he will be missed.
