Happy Birthday to Betty White with Ryan Reynolds
Betty White has turned 97 and she is celebrating it in a way only she could. Betty White’s career started in the late 1930’s and she’s well known for her part in hit sitcoms like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls. Betty has always celebrated her birthdays with a lot of flair, for example in 2012 when she turned 90 she had a TV special on NBC called Betty White’s 90th birthday: A tribute to America’s Golden Girl.
A representative for White said “Betty is feeling great, She has the absolute best sense of humor.” It seems that she celebrated her birthday by playing poker and eating cake.
Which in my honest opinion, is a pretty nice way to celebrate your bday.
Last September, White went on stage at the 2018 Emmy Awards and had a few things to say about her age. “Somebody said something the other day about first lady of television, and I took it as a big compliment,” And then she delivered the punchline “And then I heard her talking to her daughter a little later, and she said, ‘First lady, she’s that old. She was the first one way back.’ “
Betty also said the following about her amazing career which is still going strong. “It’s incredible that I’m still in this business and you are still putting up with me … It’s incredible that you can stay in a career this long and still have people put up with you. I wish they did that at home.”
Betty, also had the following to say to the next generation “Enjoy life, Accentuate the positive, not the negative,” She followed it up with “It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”
Betty White is loved by a lot of people and Ryan Reynolds is one of them. He went on Instagram and posted a picture of the two together and congratulated her by saying the following:
“I don’t usually wish ex-girlfriends Happy Birthday. But Betty’s special. Happy Birthday to the one and only, @bettymwhite. Cheers to another year of ‘Tinis and Weenies!”
Ryan was referencing an interview Betty did where she told people her secrets to long and happy life. Which are martinis and hotdogs. Reynolds played White’s grandson in the 2009 comedy “The Proposal,” and the two have been friends ever since.
Happy Birthday Betty White and I hope you get many more.
