21 Savage gets deported and Demi Lovato Bullied into deleting twitter account
ICE has arrested the Grammy nominated rapper 21 Savage because he is in the US illegally. 21 Savage was arrested in Atlanta early Sunday by US Immigration and Customs Enforcements. 21 Savage’s real name is Shayaabin Abraham-Joseph and he is a citizen of the United Kingdom. The agency is making claims that Savage entered the US legally in July 2005 when he was a minor but failed to leave the country under the terms of a non immigrant visa. Which means that 21 Savage was unlawfully present in the US since July 2006.
ICE released the following statement “Mr. Abraham-Joseph is presently in ICE custody in Georgia and has been placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts. ICE will now await the outcome of his case before a federal immigration judge to determine future actions.” An attorney of 21 Savage also released a statement: “We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with the authorities to clear up any misunderstandings. Mr. Abraham-Joseph is a role model to the young people in this country, especially in Atlanta, Georgia, and is actively working in the community leading programs to help underprivileged youths in financial literacy.”
21 Savage reportedly was also convicted on felony drug charges in October 2014 in Fulton County, Georgia. This news came as a shock to many of Savage’s fans because Savage has been closely linked to Atlanta and the streets of Atlanta. Supposedly the 21 in his name is a reference to a street gang which is based in Atlanta. 21 Savage released his album Issa Album in 2017 which had the hit song Bank Account on it. His second album I am greater than I was was released in 2018. In response to Savage’s issue Demi Lovato put some memes on Twitter directed at the rapper and the backlash was so heavy she decided to delete her Twitter account.
Lovato said the following “So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl.” She later followed it up with: “FYI this is the shit I’m laughing at.. not the fact that anyone is getting deported.” Of course 21 Savage’s fans were not happy with what she said because she was making light of someone else’s misfortune.
The rapper Wale also didn’t get what was so funny saying: “Why is somebody freedom funny … I don’t get the joke.” The Migos rapper Offset also spoke up: “All the memes and sh.. aint funny when somebody going through some. Praying for my dawg, aint sh.. funny, his family depending on him.” Soon after she deleted her Twitter account, Demi posted the following on her Instagram: “Wasn’t laughing at anyone getting deported. I know that’s not a joke…not have I EVER laughed at that. The meme I posted/was talking about was of him being writing with a feather pen. Sorry if I offended anyone. But it’s no excuse to laugh at someone’s addiction, let alone their OD. Lastly, I wasn’t making fun on anything having to do with deportations or even anything against him. I was laughing at who the (expletive) knew 21 Savage was British? … I’m sorry if I upset people truly. Yo @wale if you wanna talk, then answer my dms,” she finished.
