Subjectivity Vs. Objectivity
This world is littered with consistencies and inconsistencies. Filled with potholes in everything defined as reality if you’re willing to look. If you have the audacity within you to challenge what you see then you can change the world in front of you. I assume that most of you will have heard of the saying “you change the world by changing yourself.” The easiest way to do this is by simply changing your perspective. Getting lost in the so-called truth of this world can distort your eyes to believe that what “they” told you is reality.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is because the beholder has been through a certain set of events that defined what is beautiful to them. There is so much in this world that can be reformed and twisted if you only try. Being objective is a hard thing to do for a lot of people. And that is because emotions are a part of the human experience. And thus emotions seep into your reality whether you want them to or not.
Subjectivity Vs. Objectivity can be hell for an artist.
And it’s not just your emotions, your cultural background, your past experiences with similar situations, they all leave residue you take with you through life. This spoken word poem called Subjectivity Vs. Objectivity is all about how creativity can be defined by both. But the sad part is, is that often one overpowers the other. And that’s when you get the unfair situation of being judged by standards unfamiliar to you.
This was another great poem that I did together with a fantastic poet. The more I do these collaborations the more I see how awesome it is to work with people to create magic. Poetry is one heck of a thing, and it keeps showing me the beauty of the world.
